Española Island

Española Island is located at the southeastern end of the archipelago and is considered, along with Santa Fe, one of the oldest islands, about four million years old.

Santa Cruz Island

Santa Cruz Island (Infatigable) is the second largest island of the archipelago, with an area of 986 km2. The highest point is Cerro Crocker, at 864 meters. Santa Cruz has the largest population in Galapagos, especially in the town of Puerto Ayora on the south coast.

Isabela Island

Isabela is the largest island of the archipelago and occupies about 60% of the surface of Galapagos. It was formed by the volcanoes Cerro Azul, Sierra Negra (Santo Tomás), Alcedo, Darwin, Wolf and Ecuador, which merged into a single island.

San Cristobal Island

It is the easternmost island of the Galapagos archipelago and one of the oldest from the geological point of view. The name San Cristobal is of Spanish origin and comes from the patron saint of sailors, its Old English name of Chatham is that of William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham.

Mosquera Island

Mosquera is a small sandy island of 0.06 square meters between Baltra Island and Seymour Island. There is no road, but rather a sandbar where visitors have the opportunity to observe and even swim with the sea lions of a large local colony.

Genovesa Island

Genovesa Island occupies about 14 km2 and its maximum elevation is 64 m. The horseshoe-shaped island has a volcanic caldera whose wall has collapsed, forming the large Darwin Bay, surrounded by cliffs.

Fernandina Island

Fernandina Island is the third largest and the youngest island of Galapagos. The island is a layer of the active volcano that last erupted in August 2007.

Floreana Island
