Upon your arrival, our guide will be waiting to welcome you to Ecuador and transfer you to your hotel in the city.

Upon your arrival at Quito International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative who will assist you with check-in and provide a briefing about your trip. After a 30-minute flight to El Coca, you will take a private vehicle to the Napo River dock for a two-hour motorized canoe ride, marking the beginning of your Amazon rainforest adventure.

You will enjoy a boxed lunch and refreshments during this part of the journey. Upon arrival at La Selva’s main dock, you will transfer to a paddle canoe for the final stretch to the lodge, where the staff will take care of your luggage.

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink and snacks, followed by an introductory briefing about the rainforest, preparing you for an immersive experience.

Matapalo Charapa Trail: Discover the famous strangler fig and ancient mahogany trees along this trail, guided by trained staff who will share insights about the local flora and fauna.

Night Canoe Ride: Explore Garza Cocha Lagoon with a spotlight to search for caimans, owls, and other nocturnal animals, as well as opportunities for stargazing if the sky is clear.

Start your day with breakfast before setting out on a 15-minute walk to the observation tower, which rises 120 feet above the jungle floor. With the help of a telescope, you’ll be able to spot colorful birds and primates in the canopy.

Then, visit Mandi Cocha, a serene lake that showcases the beauty of the flooded forest, where you might encounter the famous giant otters.

Lunch: Enjoy your meal while taking in the stunning surroundings.

Garza Cocha Lagoon: This picturesque lake is ideal for observing a wide variety of wildlife, including monkeys and the distinctive hoatzin.

Night Walk: Venture into the darkness with your flashlight to witness the jungle come alive, encountering frogs, reptiles, and other nocturnal creatures.

After breakfast, you will take a motorized canoe to the parrot clay lick, where hundreds of parrots and parakeets gather to feed on the mineral-rich soil. Binoculars will be essential to enjoy the spectacle.

Visit the indigenous community of Pilchi to learn about their traditional way of life, including their customs, food, and education, fostering a deep connection with the local culture.

Lunch: Enjoy traditional cuisine and engage with the community.

Coto Trail: Experience a scenic walk from the lodge to Garza Cocha Lagoon, where your guides will introduce you to medicinal plants that have been used for centuries by local tribes.

A canoe ride back to the lodge concludes the day’s activities.

Start the day with breakfast before heading to Yasuni National Park, the largest protected area in Ecuador. Visit a clay lick where scarlet macaws and other parrot species gather to drink sodium-rich water, and you might spot deer, peccaries, or even tapirs.

Explore the forest in search of unique primates native to this area. Although the last uncontacted indigenous tribe resides here, they remain hidden from view.

Lunch: Enjoy a meal surrounded by natural beauty.

Morete Yaku: You will paddle along the main stream that feeds Garza Cocha Lagoon, experiencing the contrast between terra firme forest and swamp forest. Discover the importance of the Morete palm, which supports numerous species and indigenous communities.

Departure Briefing: In the afternoon, the manager will provide essential information about your departure the following day, complemented by a farewell cocktail from the bartender.

Early breakfast and final canoe excursion back to the Napo River. The stream may reveal new sightings of giant otters, saki monkeys, black-capped donacobius, and other birds. The motorized canoe will take you back to Coca for your return flight to Quito.

Once in Quito, you will be transferred to your hotel near the airport area.
