Santa Fe Island

Santa Fe Island was formed by lava flows that erupted under the sea and were subsequently elevated (although recent evidence suggests later subaerial activity). The 24 square kilometer island is crisscrossed by a series of parallel reefs formed by fault activity.

Santiago Island

Santiago is the fourth largest island and in its 585 square kilometers has several excellent sites to visit. Over a long flat coastline of black lava with eroded shapes forming lava pools, caves and coves that are home to a variety of wildlife.

Rábida Island

Isla Rábida is located south of Santiago Island. The landing point on this 5 km2 island is a dark red beach, usually frequented by sea lions. you can swim and snorkel here.

South Plaza Island

South Plaza is one of the smallest but also the "richest" islands of the archipelago. Only 130 meters (426 feet) wide, it was formed by a tectonic massif that gave it the shape of an inclined plane.

Baltra Island

Baltra Island is a small island in the Galapagos. Visitors to the Galapagos archipelago often set foot here for the first time, as this is where the main airport, Seymour Airport, is located.

Santa Cruz Island

Santa Cruz Island (Infatigable) is the second largest island of the archipelago, with an area of 986 km2. The highest point is Cerro Crocker, at 864 meters. Santa Cruz has the largest population in Galapagos, especially in the town of Puerto Ayora on the south coast.

Isabela Island

Isabela is the largest island of the archipelago and occupies about 60% of the surface of Galapagos. It was formed by the volcanoes Cerro Azul, Sierra Negra (Santo Tomás), Alcedo, Darwin, Wolf and Ecuador, which merged into a single island.

San Cristobal Island

It is the easternmost island of the Galapagos archipelago and one of the oldest from the geological point of view. The name San Cristobal is of Spanish origin and comes from the patron saint of sailors, its Old English name of Chatham is that of William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham.
