Flights to the Galapagos

avion-volando

There are at least 6 flights to Galapagos. All flights to Galapagos depart from mainland Ecuador, from the capital Quito and Guayaquil. All flights from Quito make a stop in Guayaquil. Flights from mainland Ecuador arrive at one of the two main airports in Galapagos, on the islands of Baltra and San Cristobal; on Isabela Island, there is a small airstrip for small planes.

Baltra Island is your first encounter with the natural wonder, where the main Seymour Airport is located. With only 27 km², this island is the entry point for many visitors, built during World War II by the Americans. Just 1 km from the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island, it offers few tourist attractions, except for some souvenir shops for your last-minute needs.

San Cristobal Island, a geological and cultural wonder. As the easternmost island of the archipelago, it offers a unique historical and natural richness. Explore its 558 km² of terrain, with peaks reaching up to 730 meters. Known as Chatham in old English, its Spanish name honors the patron saint of sailors. A must-stop on your journey through the Galapagos Islands!

It is important to highlight that flights to Galapagos only operate during daytime hours, a key factor to consider when planning your trip.

Currently, there are two airlines flying from mainland Ecuador to the islands: Avianca and Latam. Flight prices range from 500 USD for adults and 450 USD for children; however, more affordable flights can be found in flight search engines.

Among the different routes that can be taken, the following are included:
