DAY 2 – TOUR TO LOBOS ISLAND

Lobos Island owes its name to the numerous sea lions that reside here and can be found resting and playing along the rocky shores. It is also home to many birds, such as pelicans, frigate birds in their nests, blue-footed boobies. Inside the small channel, the water is very clear, so it is easy to find sea turtles, sea lions, rays and perhaps even sharks during snorkeling.

Back in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, you can take a pleasant walk along the beautiful beach, rest and enjoy the landscape or read by the sea.

DAY 3. TRANSFER TO SANTA CRUZ ISLAND – UPPER PART

After breakfast our guide will take us to the San Cristobal pier to take the speed boat to Santa Cruz Island.

Once in Santa Cruz Island , our specialized guide will pick you up at the dock to begin the tour. On your first day you will visit the upper part of Santa Cruz Island, along the way you will observe the change of dry vegetation in the lower part, to a humid tropical forest in the upper part. The characteristic trees in the upper part are the Escalecias and the Palo Santos. Here you will visit a farm, in this place you will have the opportunity to observe the famous giant tortoises in their natural environment. After the tour you will enjoy a typical lunch. You will continue your journey towards an impressive tunnel almost 300 meters long, formed by lava flows (the outer part of the lava cooled faster than the inner part and therefore this tunnel was formed). Afternoon arrival at the hotel in Puerto Ayora

DAY 4 – SNORKELING TOUR AND FISHING DEMONSTRATION

Today you will participate in a yacht excursion to Pinzon Islet. This excursion is not private and is done in the company of other guests (maximum 12 passengers per boat). In the afternoon, you will enjoy free time in Puerto Ayora.

To visit Pinzon Islet we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am to take you to the Itabaca Channel on Santa Cruz Island where you will board a boat, the journey from Puerto Ayora to the Itabaca Channel is approximately 45 minutes. From the Itabaca Channel, you will go to Islote Pinzon, a 25-minute boat trip. Once on the islet, you will snorkel for about 45 minutes and watch some birds from the boat, specifically seabirds such as blue-footed and masked boobies and frigatebirds. We will also have a demonstration of artisanal fishing, as done by Galapagos fishermen.

DAY 5 – BOAT TO ISABELA / TINTORERAS ISLET

Early in the morning, we will take a speedboat to Isabela. The tour lasts approximately two and a half hours and you can see various species such as manta rays, sea turtles and, with much luck, dolphins. Upon disembarking we will find a landscape with a large amount of volcanic rock, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and playful sea lions. Later we will transfer to the hotel and after a short rest, we will go to the Tintoreras. “Las Tintoreras” owes its name to the fact that in this place there are white-finned sharks known as Tintoreras. In this place we can practice snorkeling to observe them up close and also swim with one along with a great variety of multicolored fish.

DAY 6 – TUNNELS / BOAT TO SANTA CRUZ

Early in the morning, we will travel 45 minutes by boat to reach Cabo Rosa, once there we will begin the tour that lasts approximately 2 hours, we will visit the different paths through the tunnels. These geological formations originated after several volcanic eruptions and are considered one of the most beautiful landscapes of rock lava formations in the Galapagos Islands. In addition, here we can observe pelicans, Nazca boobies, blue-footed boobies, lava lizards and one than another sea lion resting on the rocks.

Regarding vegetation, we find native flora from the arid zone such as matasano and palo santo. Finally we will return to the port to take the boat back to Santa Cruz.
