This enchanting region is home to diverse Indigenous communities whose rich traditions have flourished for centuries. Meals: Breakfast
We depart from Santa Marta in the morning, heading east along the stunning Caribbean coast toward El Zaino, the main entrance to Tayrona National Park, just a 30-minute drive away. After a short walk, we arrive at Cañaveral Beach, one of the park’s most beautiful spots. From the top of a small hill, we’re rewarded with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean—a perfect place for photos. The adventure continues with a one-hour hike through lush tropical forest, leading us to Arrecife Beach, another breathtaking location within Tayrona. Here, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings, but please note that swimming is not allowed at Arrecife due to strong currents. Lunch is available at a nearby restaurant (not included). We then resume our hike for another hour, passing idyllic beaches like Arenillas, La Piscina, and finally reaching Cabo San Juan, one of the park’s most spectacular sites. Here, you’ll have plenty of time to take a refreshing swim and relax on the palm-fringed shores. The tour lasts approximately 10 hours, including 3 to 4 hours of hiking. Please note that the hike can be challenging, with some steep ascents and descents, as well as high humidity and temperatures. The trail includes stairs and wooden walkways, so we recommend wearing sturdy athletic shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and bringing plenty of water.
