Discover Bolivia on a journey that blends history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. From Santa Cruz and Sucre, with their colonial charm and vibrant markets, to the majestic Uyuni Salt Flats with their surreal scenery, this tour includes visits to iconic landmarks such as Cerro Rico in Potosi and archaeological sites in Tiwanaku. Detailed Itinerary

We will begin this adventure with the transfer from Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz to the hotel, where you will be welcomed and accompanied by a guide.

Accommodation at the hotel and we set off to explore the city.

The transportation will pass along the main avenue where several important monuments of the city of Santa Cruz are located.

We continue with the Main Square, which marks the center of the city. In front stands the Cathedral, home to the Museum of Sacred Art, where we find works in wood, fabric, and silver, as well as paintings and ancient books—all related to the church.

Our next activity is a walk through the handicraft market, where you can find a bit of everything. It’s a way to connect with the local culture.

The last stop will be the Santa Cruz History Museum. Here, we will learn about the city's history since colonial times.

Return to the hotel.

* Museums are open from Monday to Friday.

* Schedules depend on the arrival time of the flight.

After breakfast, we head to the airport to take the flight to Sucre. The flight lasts 45 minutes.

We arrive in Sucre and head to the hotel for accommodation and rest.

At midday, we go out for lunch.

Then we will set out to discover the capital of Bolivia. We will visit the Casa de la Libertad, where the country’s declaration of independence was signed.

We continue to the San Felipe de Neri Convent, where you can go up to the rooftop to enjoy beautiful views of the White City.

Return to the hotel between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. Free dinner.

* The Casa de la Libertad is only open from Tuesday to Sunday, and San Felipe de Neri only from Monday to Saturday.

Travel time by transport: 1 hour and 30 min + 1 hour flight.

After breakfast, at 9:00 AM, we depart for the Recoleta viewpoint, a historic site that offers us an exceptional view of the city.

We continue to the ASUR Museum of Indigenous Art, where we will admire samples of indigenous weaving.

We continue to the central market to get familiar with local products and culture. You can also take the opportunity to buy fruits or other seasonal foods.

Lunchtime at a restaurant, and we finish with a visit to the Sucre cemetery. It has become a tourist attraction due to its outstanding architectural design, rich history, and large gardens.

Return to the hotel at 3:30 PM and free dinner.

* If this is a Sunday, instead of the city tour we will head out to explore the Tarabuco fair.

At 8:00 AM, we depart by transport to the city of Potosi (3-hour journey). This city is important because it is home to Cerro Rico; during colonial times, it was an elite city.

Arrival in Potosi, accommodation at the hotel, and lunch.

We will visit one of the mines of Cerro Rico by private transport (20-minute ride). This site was the most important mining location in Bolivia during the 1950s. We will walk through the underground tunnels until we reach El Tio, the deity worshipped by the miners.

Return to the hotel at 4:30 PM and overnight stay.

Travel time by transport: 3 hours and 20 minutes
Walking time: 30 min, approx. in the mine.

At 8:30 AM, we set out to visit the Casa de la Moneda, one of the most important museums in the country. In this place, enslaved people brought from Africa minted silver coins during colonial times.

Short walk through the city center to observe the colonial streets and the main square.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we will head to Uyuni.

We depart at 2:00 PM (4-hour journey). The road crosses unique landscapes between mountains and small valleys that form a green oasis. Some mining sites are also part of the scenery.

Arrival in Uyuni at 6:00 PM, accommodation at the hotel, and overnight stay.

* The Casa de la Moneda is not open on Sundays.

Altitude: Between 3,670 m and 4,090 m.

After breakfast, at 9:30 AM, we set out to explore the Uyuni Salt Flats and its surroundings.

We begin with the Train Cemetery, an unusual landscape of abandoned locomotives.

We continue to the town of Colchani, where we will visit a traditional salt processing plant.

We enter the salt flat; our first stop is Playa Blanca, the first hotel built entirely of salt.

Next, we will stop at the Dakar Monument and the Flag Square before reaching Incahuasi Island, an impressive island where giant cacti grow.

We enjoy lunch in the middle of the salt flat and wait for sunset while taking photos playing with perspective.

We watch the sunset with a wine tasting.

Finally, we return to the hotel around 7:00 PM.

Travel time by transport: 2-3 hours.

Transfer to the Uyuni airport to take the flight to La Paz.

Arrival in La Paz and accommodation at the hotel to rest.

In the afternoon, after midday, we will head to the Valley of the Moon, a beautiful geological formation located near the city that resembles a lunar landscape. Upon arrival, we will take a 15 to 20-minute walk.

At the end of the visit, we board the transport again to head to the cable car station. We will connect with the silver and red cable cars. During this ride, we will enjoy incredible views of the city built among mountains.
We finish at the Central Station, where our transport awaits to take us to Plaza Murillo

We will visit Plaza Murillo, where the country's political institutions and the Government Palace are located nearby. In the square, you can see monuments inspired by Greek art, such as the muses.

We continue to the Witches’ Market, a street where amulets and esoteric items related to Andean worldview and culture are sold.

At the end of the tour, we return to the hotel.

Travel time by transport: 3-4 hours.
Walking time: 15-20 min.

At 8:00 AM, after having breakfast at the hotel, we will depart in a private vehicle toward the Spiritual and Political Center of the enigmatic Tiwanaku culture.

At 10:30 AM we arrive at the site. We will begin with a visit to the Lithic Museum (30-minute visit), where the Bennett Monolith—the largest of them all—is located. Other stone-carved objects, unique pieces of the Tiwanaku culture, can also be seen.

Afterwards, we head to the archaeological site (1 hour and 15-minute tour), where we will observe various monuments such as the Semi-subterranean Temple. Here, you can see the embedded stone heads and the Bearded Monolith at the center of the temple, accompanied by two smaller ones.

We continue with the Kalasasaya Temple, where we will find the Gate of the Sun and the Ponce monoliths. The Gate of the Sun stands out for its carving of the god Viracocha, also known as the Staff God.

We continue with the Kantatallita Temple, where we will find intriguing remains such as an arched lintel, Andean crosses carved into stone blocks, and a stone model of what is believed to be an as-yet-unknown temple.

Our last stop is the pyramid. It was a great pyramidal temple where it is believed that worship was offered to astral deities.

Lunch at... After finishing lunch, we will head to the town of Copacabana (4 to 5-hour journey).

Arrival in Copacabana between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Accommodation at the hotel.

At 8:30 AM, after breakfast, we will walk to the port, where we will board a private boat to transfer to the Island of the Sun.

After 1 hour and a half of boat travel, we arrive at Pilkokaina or Temple of the Sun. Important ruins of Inca origin.

We will finish at the port of Yumani to take the boat that will take us to have lunch in the community of Huakani. Lunch is an “aphtapi,” a traditional Aymara dish.

After lunch, we will return to Copacabana on a 1.5-hour journey.

Around 3:30 PM, we arrive in Copacabana and visit the Cathedral, where the Dark Virgin or Virgin of Candelaria is located.

After the visit, we board our transport to return to La Paz.

Arrival in La Paz at 7:00 PM and accommodation at the hotel.

Travel time by transport: 3 hours by boat + 3 hours by road.
Walking time: 2 hours.

On this final day, after completing this extraordinary journey, we will make a final transfer from the hotel to the airport (the schedule depends on the flight time).
